Who is behind My Health Fair

Before My Health Fair

Since Romina and her family originally from Central America arrived as an immigrant to the United States in the 1980s, Romina Wilmot has been aware of the needs of the Latino community in the city of Boston and in general in the state of Massachusetts.

At the age of 11, Romina found herself in a new country with different customs and another language, where she progressively began to study, first at the Boston Public Schools and then in College where she obtained a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Communications and Management.

With the conviction of being an agent of change, Romina has volunteered in organizations with high impact in the Latino community in the Boston area such as YWCA Boston, Joslin Diabetes Center and Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA).

Work Experience

With a career forged in Fortune 500 companies in the area of marketing and advertising, Romina has led healthcare business development projects and the implementation of national and local marketing strategies.

Also, Romina has stood out for her professionalism and dedication in creating awareness and inclusion, conveying the services, programs, coverage benefits and social services of medical care for immigrant communities in general and especially for older people in the multicultural community of Massachusetts.

Romina has a cutting-edge understanding of the healthcare ecosystem. She has developed multi-sponsored events, created educational programs in the community and for specific patient populations.

Her colleagues recognize her as a hard-working professional woman, always willing to help and offer support, a leader, organized, pragmatic, with initiative and with an approach aimed at improving the quality of life and health of the Latino community.

How My Health Fair was created

With the purpose of contributing to the community, in 2020 when we were unaware of the impact of the COVID19 pandemic, Romina materialized a project she had in mind for a while and launched My Health Fair.

It’s a virtual on-demand 24/7 health fair, with the objective of connecting English and Spanish-speaking audiences with health care organizations so that they are informed of the services and resources available through a virtual health fair, fulfilling the mission of overcoming language barriers and low literacy in health services in underserved and hard-to-reach populations.

Today My Health Fair is projected as an inclusive information source, which serves as a meeting point between the community and healthcare providers and organizations, increasing visibility and growth with an impact on health outcomes and literacy with those who currently lack knowledge and resources.
